Thanks so much for stopping by. My name is Mark Horner. While I don't consider myself a professional still photographer, I do believe that I have a pretty good eye for taking nice pictures. It's a knack developed over the 20 years I spent working in TV news, mostly as a reporter. But I shot & edited video over those years, too.
I started taking more than a passing interest in still photography in 1994. Over the next decade, most of my picture taking trips unfolded in New Mexico.
In late 2008, I returned to the state where I was raised: Washington. All of the pictures originally posted on this site have been taken since my return to Washington. In time, I plan to publish some of my favorite photos from New Mexico here, too. And maybe a few from Arizona.
Since this is the "About" page, I should probaby mention a bit more about what I've done over the years.
I wrote a true crime book ("September Sacrifice") published by Kensington Publishing Corporation in 2004. I've appeared on a spattering of TV shows, too, including; Dateline NBC, American Justice, The Investigators, CNN & the CBS Early Show.
Bottom line is I consider myself a storyteller who also happens to love taking pictures.
I hope you'll find some enjoyment, too, as you surf through this site.
If you have any questions about my photography, feel free to contact me at mark.horner @ gmail dot com. You can reach me on Skype, too, at writingman63 (if you get voice mail, please leave a message. I'll be happy to return your call).
Yep. That's me.
